Vera E. Dunshee
UNADILLA — Vera E. Dunshee, 96, of 894 Dunshee Road, Unadilla, passed into the hands of her Lord on Thursday morning, June 2, 2005, at Faxton St. Luke’s Health Care Center, New Hartford, with her family at her bedside.
She was born Aug. 23, 1908, in Binghamton, the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Fitch.
She married John Murphy on Jan. 27, 1925. He predeceased her Sept. 20, 1960. On May 14, 1966, she married Richard Dunshee in North Fenton. He passed away May 18, 1997.
She was a member of the Sidney Center United Methodist Church.
Vera was a loving mother and wonderful lady.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Saddlemire, and her husband, Wayne, of Clinton; two sons, Larry Murphy of Verbanks and Roger Dunshee and his wife, Joan, of Unadilla; stepdaughter, Florence Riddle of Warrensburg, Mo.; four grandsons, Alfred Saddlemire of Clinton, Robert Saddlemire and his wife, Patti, of Waterville, David Murphy of Charlotte, N.C., and Charles Dunshee of Unadilla; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A son, LeGrand Fitch, and two sisters, Flora Thompson and Christina Foster, predeceased Vera.
Funeral and committal services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2005, at the C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Sidney Center.
Friends and family are invited to call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at the funeral chapel.
